Filipina tennis ace Alexandra Eala continues her campaign in China as she enters the qualifying round of the prestigious WTA 1000 Wuhan Open in Hubei. The 19-year-old rising star will face off against Moyuka Uchijima of Japan this Saturday, October 4, at 5:10 PM (Philippine time, subject to change).

The Wuhan Open, happening from October 6 to 12, features 56 singles players and 28 doubles teams on outdoor hard courts. It is one of the most important tournaments on the WTA Tour calendar, just a tier below the Grand Slams, attracting some of the best names in women’s tennis.

Eala, currently inside the WTA Top 100, has already secured direct entries into major tournaments, including the Grand Slams. But in Wuhan, she looks to prove herself further on one of the toughest stages in Asia, with former champions like Aryna Sabalenka and Martina Hingis among those who have lifted the trophy in the past.

The road won’t be easy, but Filipino fans know Alex thrives under pressure. With her trademark grit, discipline, and fighting spirit, Eala aims to power through the qualifiers and join the main draw of this world-class event.

The tennis world will be watching closely—and so will the Philippines. Let’s rally behind Alex as she carries the flag proudly in Wuhan.
